Laurie S. Thompson

Laurie S. Thompson (Nee: Sanders) Age 66, passed away surrounded by her family on November 1, 2020. Laurie was born on March 21,1954 to John and Terry Sanders. She was a devoted wife to Tom for 41 years, a proud mother to Chad (Dawn), Megan (Kathryn) and Jenny (Brett), and a loving grandmother to Kendra, Kyle, Olivia, Alaina, Ryder and Nolan.

Laurie was the rock of the family. She was selfless and always put others first. She loved supporting and cheering on her husband and children at games, concerts, and school events. She treasured creating memories on vacations as a family and lived for every moment.

Laurie impacted many lives as a teacher in the classroom and as a coach on the athletic fields. She created many lifelong friendships with her “teacher friends” at Dover Elementary in the Westlake City School District, where she taught for 35 years. She was passionate about education and dedicated her life to helping others.

Laurie was a source of strength and light to everyone in her life. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday November 6th, 11am at St. Mary's Church, 250 Kraft St. Berea Ohio, Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday November 5th from 3-7pm at A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Rd. Middleburg Hts.
