Patricia A. Kenzig

Pat is survived by her siblings, Diane (the Late Bruce) Polivchak, Ronald (Julie) Kenzig, Mary Kay (Daniel) Zane and Laura Kenzig; nieces and nephew, Christine (Derek) Dubiaga, Brian Polivchak, Lisa (Brian) Exl, Matthew (Jacqui) Kenzig and David (Megan) Zane; great-nieces, Ashley and Claire Exl, Evie Zane and great-nephew, Edward Polivchak.

Pat was a dedicated teacher at St John Bosco for 24 years and helped get the blue ribbon award there through her Science in the Sunshine program. She was recognized for the innovative program with several awards that included State of Ohio teacher of the year and a Presidential Citation from Bill Clinton for excellence in teaching in 1993 . She was dedicated to improving education of science through Project Discovery- a grant program with the State of Ohio that brought teachers instruction to use experiential learning in the classrooms for math and science. After leaving St. John Bosco, she taught Science at Beaumont High School for 12 years.

She was a friend of the Parma Heights library who worked to improve library programs and access for the community. She also served as president. She was dedicated to feeding her community through many years of volunteer work at the Parma Heights food bank.

She loved her countless students, they were her life's passion. When she retired from teaching, she worked at MetroHealth in the child life program. She also volunteered for many years in the Ronald McDonald room at Metrohealth helping families experiencing medical crisis with their children. Pat taught anyone she encountered of her love of the earth, political awareness, and values of faith, family and friendship.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 AM on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2026 at St. John Bosco Church, 6480 Pearl Road, Parma Heights, OH 44130. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
