

Ron was born in Buffalo, NY on March 30, 1943, the son of the late Wayne and Evelyn (nee Pyle) Whipkey. Ron was the beloved husband of 46 years to Marilyn (nee Morris); loving father of Rhonda L. Whipkey and Ronald J. Whipkey; grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle of many. He was the dear brother of Betty Hug, Donna (Lonnie) Aebersold, Mick (Debbie, deceased) Whipkey, and the late Mildred Grace, Donald (Donna) Whipkey and nephew Dave Whipkey who was raised as a brother.
He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and went on to a career in electronics and, later, repair of hospital equipment. He consulted with Ohio Utilities Protection Service as a computer programmer. He owned Mikron Services, a company he and a partner established to sell, install, repair, and maintain hospital diagnostic equipment. He retired in 1994.
Ron was a private pilot. He and Marilyn flew to vacation destinations several times a year, visiting 48 of the 50 states in their plane. They also vacationed in Hawaii and Australia. After retirement, they spent winters in Nevada, particularly the Laughlin area where they had a second home.
Ron was an avid poker player and enjoyed both live and online games.
