Our mother, Teresita, was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, where her faith and values began. Later, she made her home in Cleveland, Ohio, where she raised her family.
She became a widow early in life. Even through that hardship, she never gave up. She was a woman of very few words who did not ask for much, yet gave everything. She leaned on her faith and her family, and with their support, she raised five hardworking, well-rounded children. She led by example and gave us the life she believed we deserved. We were her greatest testament.
The resilience she carried was something we all deeply admired. She didn’t often speak about her faith, but she lived it every day through her actions. She taught us to be kind, to work hard, and to stay grounded.
Our mom was humble and quietly powerful. She showed her love through the way she cared for us, cooked for us, and brought us together—especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and her love for us was undeniable. In honor of her love for Christmas and giving, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, you consider bringing an unwrapped gift to donate to Toys for Tots.
Even as her health declined, she remained strong, and her spirit never broke. That quiet strength kept her with us a little longer. We are deeply grateful for the time we shared and the memories we will carry forever.
She will now be reunited with her beloved husband and family and rest in the eternal peace she so faithfully believed in. She will always be with us.
