

It is with sadness that the family of Charlene Carol Reedy Hale, born June 25th, 1941 in Middletown, Ohio, the only child of parents Leonard and Janice (Ogle) Reedy, passed away on Monday February 9, 2026. Charlene graduated from Lemon Monroe High School, class of 1959 and attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, she also took various classes at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
Charlene and her former husband Don Hale raised three children, sons Rod (Kelly) and Doug (Paula) and daughter Debbie Hale in Trenton where they owned the Tastee-Freeze / Big Tee Burger Restaurant and C&D Sign Company. Charlene later worked for many years at Oyer Real Estate in Middletown as their bookkeeper.
Charlene was very active in civic and community organizations and events, volunteering in Trenton and Middletown for the Lemon Township Emergency Squad, Trenton Fire Belles, Trenton and Middletown Bicentennial Celebrations, The Boy Scouts of America, the City of Trenton Zoning Board and Civil Rights Board, the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Challenge.
Along with her children, Charlene is survived by a son-in-law, Forrest Houser, her grandchildren, Michael Houser (Rachel, Trisha Houser, Whitney Clark (Zzach), Katie Nagele (Paul), Alexander Hale (Bekah), Jacob Hale Jessica), Zach Green, Ethan Hale and Paige Green along with 16 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the medical team of Dr. Kyle Paul, Atrium Medical Center and Ohio Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ohio Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.
Services for Charlene will take place at Breitenbach-Anderson Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin St., Middletown, OH 45044, on Friday, February 13, 2026 with visitation from 10:30 - Noon. A Celebration of Life service will follow at noon. A burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Woodside Cemetery.
