Janet was very involved with event planning at Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed card club, gardening, golfing with William and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Shannon; brothers, Harold, Dale, Don and Audley Freehling; sister, Carol Hoover and brother-in-law, Ike Henry.
Janet is survived by her children, Keith (Daphne) Shannon, Debra (Eddie) McCarty; grandchildren, Liza, Jennifer, Alec, Will; brother, Glenn Freehling; sister, Violet Stewart, Phyllis Moore and in-laws, Ginny Henry, Sue (Dan) Anderson.
