Mike was born on March 15, 1954 in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Joseph E. and Bertie (Elkins) Lewis.
He spent his life bringing joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Fletcher) Lewis for 36 wonderful years. A proud and devoted father, he is also survived by his daughters, Jessica (Joe) Stover and Jennifer Gentry. His five cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, Alex, Mason, and Maddie. Two adored great-granddaughters, Aubree and Ember. His favorite sister, Beth (Harold) Cox and his favorite aunt, Johnna (John) Medley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Rev. Marty Lewis and Timothy E. Lewis and the dog he never wanted but fell in love with, “Tessa”.
Professionally, Mike worked as a project manager and realtor for many years, but his true passion was woodworking. A master carpenter, he had a unique talent for crafting beautiful cutting boards and custom furniture pieces. He enjoyed sharing his creations at Trader’s World, where he built not only a business but also a second family.
Mike was the life of every party—he had a gift for making people laugh and an even greater gift for making them feel welcome. He never met a stranger. Above all, he was a family man, and his happiest moments were when he had “the whole gang” together. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be missed more than words can say.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate nurses and staff at Miami Valley Hospital who cared for Mike during his stay. Your kindness, dedication, and support meant the world to him and to all of us.
