

Sevelia Belec passed away December 26, 2024, at the age of 89. Sevelia was born on September 25, 1935, in Dellslow, West Virginia to Charles and Goldie (Hamrick) Horne. She resided in the Morgantown, West Virginia area until 1957 when she moved to Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Belec Jr., son David Belec, daughter-in-law Donna Belec, all her siblings, George Chisler, John Horne, Dorothy Flanagan, Eleanore Horne, Helen Fessler, and dear friend, Jean Green.
Sevelia is survived by sons, Steve (Kim) Belec and Mark (Adriana) Belec; grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Jordan, Laura, Andrew; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Ruby Harp and Opal McKnight.
In an earlier part of her life, Sevelia enjoyed working as a cook and head cook at Poasttown Elementary School. She was a great baker and cook and had pride in sharing her passion by serving the students at the school.
Sevelia was known to be caring and generous to everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her infectious kindness that could brighten anyone's day. Her favorite hobbies included taking walks, reading, and giving her time to others. She loved going on family vacations, especially to the beach. Sevelia also adored flowers and was an avid gardener. She could easily identify any type of flower when asked.
Sevelia was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very involved in her grandchildren's lives and greatly supported all their endeavors. She also spent much time with friends, especially at her church. She was a member of the Germantown First Church of God for many years, actively participating and volunteering in many events.
She was cherished and greatly loved. She will be fondly remembered and missed dearly.
Visitation will be 10:00 am-11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Germantown First Church of God, 760 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, Ohio 45327. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastors Brandon Holbrook and Ruby Harp officiating. The burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Poasttown, Ohio.
