Bob was born at home in Snyder, Texas on January 31, 1925 to Isaac and Mary Prather. He valiantly served in World War II from 1943 to 1945 where he fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He began his 37 year-long love affair with his adoring spouse, Norma Faye when they wed on February 12, 1977.
Upon retirement, Bob and Norma sold their home in Midland, and spent the subsequent ten years traveling. He very much enjoyed meeting all of the RV travelers and made many friends during that time.
Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, loved to read (especially Louis Lamour western novels), watching old western movies and being surrounded by family was always the most important thing to him.

(and Cim) Dixon of Panama City Beach, Fl.; sister, Leona Davis of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren Christi (and Steven) Barnes, Deadra (and Michael) Dorris, Jason (and Renzi) Connel, Crystal Connel, Tony (and Nicole) Prather, Christopher (and Keisha) Dixon; and eight great-grandchildren.
