Carl was born in Midland, Texas on March 25th, 1947 to Carl W. and Eula Calhoun, Sr. He graduated from Muleshoe High School. Carl was also a member of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He married Cathy Calhoun on September 3rd, 1981; They were married 36 years.
For 41 years Carl worked as a machinist for multiple oil field companies in the Permian Basin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and water sports. He was actively involved in The Boy Scouts of America and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. and Eula Calhoun Sr. and his brother, Wesley Harold Calhoun.
Carl is survived by his wife, Cathy Calhoun and his children, Ryan Calhoun of Midland, Texas, Whitney Smith of Rowlett, Texas, Alexis Brooke Calhoun of Midland, Texas and Jamie Calhoun of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Zadyn, Amiya, Taylor, Rylee, Paece, Jett, Chelsea and Livia. A sister, Glenda Mueller of Stamford, Texas and a brother, Carl Rayford Calhoun of Midland, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27th, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
