

Carl Stephenson, of Midland, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Carl was born in Colorado City, Texas to Tommie and Wilma Stephenson on January 28, 1939. He graduated from Rankin High School in 1957, where he was the star football player and earned a football scholarship. He attended Texas Tech University, playing football for a year. He later joined the Army where he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. After leaving the military, he married Evelyn Powell, in Reno, Nevada in November 1962. Carl also worked with his father at Stephenson Equipment. In the early 1970’s Carl started his career in real estate. It later expanded to a thriving business of residential, commercial, property management and construction, with Stephenson Realty. After losing his beloved wife in March 2003, he met and married Donna Boyce on June 7, 2004. He and Donna enjoyed a wonderful life full of friends, adventure and travel. They both shared a passion for their Harley’s and dancing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Wilma Stephenson, and his first wife, Evelyn Powell. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Midland; daughter, Julie Frank and husband Steve; grandson, Joe Frank of Midland; step-son, Tedo Boyce; step-daughter, Kami Boyce, all of Midland, TX; step-grandchildren, Justin Hollums and his wife Sam, and their son, Carl’s step-great-grandson, Hayden Hollums, Cody Hollums, Britton Boyce and Brylee Boyce, all of Midland, TX; Bradley Boyce and Bailey Boyce of Lubbock, TX; one sister, Pat Hunter of Lockhart, TX. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Sunday, August 22, 2010 between 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M.at Rankin Cemetery, Rankin, Texas.
