

Cipriano Benavídez “C.B.” Núñez passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was 86 years old. C.B. was born in Stanton, Texas on November 9, 1928 to Serapia Benavídez and Gregorio Núñez. He was the oldest of four siblings.
C.B. was known around the community as a hardworking man with unwavering integrity. He was a founding member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he worshipped until his death, and a Third-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
C.B. was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine, parents, Serapia Benavídez and Gregorio Núñez, a brother, Cruz Sánchez, and son-in-law, Meregildo Fierro.
He is survived by his second wife, Connie Núñez, siblings Thomas Balles of El Paso and Elena Mendoza of Midland, children Henrietta Fierro of Corpus Christi, John Núñez with wife Lupe, of Garland, Joseph Núñez of Corpus Christi, and Paul Núñez of Arizona, stepchildren Jason Saenz and Cynthia Collins with husband Jon, all of Midland, and Henry Fuentes of Austin, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.
A rosary will be held at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, February 27 at 10:00 am, with burial at Fairview Cemetery following immediately.
Pallbearers will be Peter Fierro, Marc Fierro, Sonny Fierro, Sunday Arredondo, Jonathan Arredondo, Andrew Sanchez, Eric Sanchez and Arnold Vargas.
