

She was born in Abilene, Texas on October 13, 1928 to Clarence Virgil Walden and Gladys E. Watts Walden.
As a child, Dolores grew up living in oil camps in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas.
After graduation from Texas Tech in 1948, she was employed by Shell Oil Company where she met the love of her life, Walter Blair Bishop. They were married September 7, 1957 in Midland, Texas.
After living in Midland and Houston for many years, they retired in Roswell, New Mexico. Dolores and Walter traveled extensively through most of the United States and many European countries. They also enjoyed several cruises. Dolores loved being with family and friends, reading, working on crossword puzzles, playing bridge, collecting folk art, and loved her cat Sophie.
Dolores was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Midland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Blair Bishop on February 27, 1999, a sister Barbara Walden McClellan on February 13, 2009, her mother Gladys E. Watts Walden on July 15, 2009, her father Clarence Virgil Walden on September 3, 1971, and grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her brother George T. Walden of Midland; sisters Mary Walden Hazlewood and husband, J.W. of Midland and Kathy Walden Scoggins and husband, James of Midland; nieces and nephews Suzanne Roberts and husband Rick of Roswell, New Mexico, Mark McClellan and wife Paula of Roswell, New Mexico, Lisa Ussery and husband Brad of Roswell, New Mexico, Michele Jungman and husband David, Sherrie Schuster and husband Stan, Benny Scoggins and wife Lisa, Mary Scoggins and Ellen Scoggins of Midland; also six great-nephews and six great-nieces, and two great-great-nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas with Pastor Robert Kirk officiating.
The family is thankful for the loving and caring staff at Mabee Center Manor Park, Hospice of Midland, and Dr. Robert Vogel.
