Dolores Moore Wynne passed into glory and was reunited with her husband of 56 years on August 3, 2011 surrounded by her family and devoted caregivers. She was born July 23, 1934 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jesse Mae and H.E (Ed) Moore. Dolores spent her young life in Wichita Falls. She graduated from Wichita Falls high school in 1952, where she was a varsity cheerleader. After high school she worked for Sinclair Oil where she met the love of her life, Bob Wynne. The two were married April 3, 1954. After the birth of their first child, daughter JoEllen, in 1956, Dolores and Bob moved to Midland, TX in 1957. Their son, Robert was born in 1958. Dolores, "Grandma Dody" was a devoted wife who raised 2 children almost single-handedly while Bob worked as a consultant in the oil fields of the early '60s. Dolores loved to dance and always talked of the nights that she and Bob "danced up a storm" at various venues. She was involved with the Children's Service League where she devoted many hours, year after year, preparing for and enjoying the Beefeater Ball. The family golden retriever, Max, was purchased during the live auction one year. Dolores was also an integral part of the team that supported the CP Center, now the Children’s Rehab Center. She was active in the Geological and Geophysical Auxiliary serving as president during the early 1970’s and was involved in early preparations for the opening the Petroleum Museum. After purchasing the lake house in 1977, Dolores found a second home to update, change and enjoy. She truly loved her years spent at "Chez Wynne" on the hill overlooking Possum Kingdom Lake. Dolores is survived by her daughter, JoEllen and husband Don Love of Austin, TX; her son Robert and wife, Vanessa, of Midland; grandchildren: Ashlea Unsell of Dallas, TX; Wynne Unsell of Austin, TX; Nicole Love of Austin, TX; Tiffany and husband, Travis Lathram of Midland, TX; Christopher and wife, Brittany Wynne of The Woodlands; Michael Wynne of Midland, TX; and great-grandchildren Trevor and Taylor Lathram. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joanne Ritchie; brother, Gene Ballard; and her husband Bob. Not a day has gone by since he passed that she did not miss his presence beside her bed. Their reunion has come! The family wishes to thank the loving and dedicated caregivers who spent the last 6 1/2 years providing care to both Mom and Dad following her stroke: Nettie Arroyo Marisa Lebario, Rosie Aguirre and Martha Prieto. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Midland or the Children’s Rehab Center.
