

Donna Loy Sanders aka Grammy aka Momma Sanders, 84, entered into the presence of the Lord on February 18, 2025. She was born on February 29, 1940, in Fort Stockton, Texas. Donna was a deeply loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose presence brought warmth and joy to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Kathryn Hagar, her sister Jimmy Ann Thompson and husband, Don.
Donna's love for her boys was unwavering; she provided them with a foundation of care, strength, and guidance that shaped their lives. She is survived by her sisters Suzy Hagar and Marty Walter, brother-in-law Todd Thompson, cousins Brenda Cowley and Steve Cowley, nieces Avery Thompson and Carol Gravley, her 3 sons and their wives: Ron and Juli Sanders, Jim and Stephanie Sanders, and Jeff and Terry Sanders. She had many other children that were blessed to call her “Momma Donna” including Rory and Heidi Gesch, Brock and Keri John, Tony and Tracy Schneemann and Dean and Kelly Hayes.
The highlights of her life were her grandchildren: Austin, Brittany, Emily, Kayln, Gatlin, Grant, Suzannah, Kennidy, Logan, Aiden, Conner, and Bailey.
And her great granddaughters: Ryleigh, Teagan and Remington.
She delighted in being a part of their lives, offering her wisdom, love, and a gentle spirit. Donna’s family was her greatest treasure, and she leaves behind a legacy of boundless love and devotion.
There are countless lives that she touched throughout her life through the various jobs she worked, friends of her children & grandchildren, church families, school friends, community groups she participated in, and the dogs that she loved so very much. Throughout her life, Donna was known for her warm heart, selflessness, and unwavering love for her family and Jesus. She had an infectious spirit and a gentle nature that made her a source of comfort and joy to everyone she encountered.
Service will be March 8, 2025, at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, 213 E. 3rd Street, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
We kindly ask that all those attending the service refrain from wearing black attire. In order honor Donna’s love of color, we encourage guests to wear colors that reflect joy, as we celebrate her life. Thank you for your understanding and support!
