Dorothy M. Redden

Dorothy was born on December 15, 1926 to Archie Q. Self and Ella Callen (England) Self in Sweetwater, Texas. There was nothing that Dorothy held closer to her heart than her family and her faith. Dorothy was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church of Midland, and a former member of Broadway Baptist Church in Sweetwater, Texas. She was also a member of AT&T Pioneers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Floyd Redden Jr, a retired fireman and Santa Fe Railroad employee.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Pat and husband, Carl Stracener, of Odessa, Texas and Clemeta D. Poynter of Midland, Texas; her brothers Dean Self and wife, Lisa, of Kerrville, Texas and Ray Self, of Kerrville, Texas; her grandchildren: Chris Millett of Altamonte Springs, Florida; Melissa Butler of Belmonte, Massachusetts; Matthew Millett of Buford, Georgia; Greta Millett of Lubbock, Texas; Terri Stephens of Odessa, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Nicky, Mason, Hunter, Allison, Corey, Brenton, Noah, Kyle, Amanda, Julie, and Caleb.

Family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
