

Dorothy was born in Abilene, Texas on August 26, 1933, to Archie and Johnnie Scoggins, and graduated from Midland High School. Dorothy was married to Frank Mazac in 1983; they were married for 19 years, until his death in 2002.
Dorothy worked as a Senior Vice-President at Midland National Bank/First City Bank for many, many years. She then worked at Midland Memorial Hospital in Insurance Verification. No matter who or whatever the circumstance, Dorothy’s life was spent always helping people in all the ways she could. She was also involved in any and all activities associated with the Second Baptist Church in Midland.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Johnnie Scoggins; husband, Frank Mazac; daughter, Bobbie Jean; son-in-law, Rick Velasco; granddaughter, Stacy Pugh; brothers, Dub Scoggins, and Edward “bud” Scoggins; sisters-in-law, Corky Scoggins, and Delores Scoggins; stepmother, Zella Hambright Scoggins; and stepbrothers, Ernie Hambright, Ronnie Hambright, and Darrell Hambright.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, David and wife Sylvia Shoemaker of Midland, Texas, Michael and wife Rusti Shoemaker of Round Rock, Texas, and Drew Large of Midland, Texas; grandsons, Brian and wife Jennifer Gammage of Midland, Texas, Scott and wife Aleena Shoemaker of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Anna Shoemaker of San Antonio, Texas, and Madelyn Large of Midland, Texas; great grandchildren, Haley of Midland, Texas, Ellie and Marshall of Austin, Texas; brother, Al Scoggins of Odessa, Texas; stepsister-in-law, Kathy Hambright of Midland, Texas; stepbrother, Ray and wife Ana Hambright of Robert Lee, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Park – Garden of Hope with Reverend Bob Porterfield officiating.
