

Ethel C. Baze, 93, of Midland, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at her son’s home. Ethel was born in Clint, Texas, on April 30, 1919, to Mr. Albert Henry Celum and Mrs. Cinthia Medlock Celum. She graduated from Clint High School. Ethel met and married the love of her life, George Mallie Baze on September 26, 1936, in Clint, Texas. On June 25, 1951, she went to work for ATMOS Energy where retired on July 1, 1986, after a career of 35 years. Ethel was a member of the Living Church of God.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her loving husband, Mallie Baze of Midland, TX; son, Preston Baze of Midland, TX; and sister, Thelma Rogers of San Antonio, TX. Ethel is survived by her son, Albert S. Baze and wife, Waynette Baze of Midland, TX; and sister, Hazel Witmer of Texarkana, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mitchell Baze and wife, Sue of Missouri City, TX; Stuart Baze and wife, La Muir of Blue Ridge, GA; Tamera Reyes and husband, Jamie of Midland, TX; Cal Baze of Lewisville, TX; and her great-grandchildren, Melanie Madden of The Woodlands, TX; Shelby, Bradley, Stephanie, and Preston Baze of Blue Ridge, GA; Peyton Pettie and Austin Reyes, both of Midland, TX; Hailey Baze of Lewisville, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m.
