Faye was born in Ponder, Texas on January 4, 1931 to Author and Lena Worthington. She graduated from Peacock High School as class Valedictorian in Peacock, Texas. Faye was married to. John A. Chapman on April 2, 1949. They were married a total of 69 years.
Faye worked as a waitress until marrying the love of her life, John Chapman and later she worked at the school cafeteria in Breckenridge, Texas. Her main hobby/activity was raising kids, kids, and more kids. Together she and John had 9 children, raising 8 to adulthood. Life was hard at times for the family, but it never lacked in love.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Author and Lena; her husband, John and three of their sons, Clifford Dalton (C.D.), John Paul and Bobby Ray; granddaughter, Miranda Watson and brother, Jim Worthington of Aspermont, Texas.
She is survived by six children - David Chapman and his wife Karen of Lubbock, Texas; Judy Johnson and her husband Dan of Midland; Debbie Watson of Midland; Lea Richardson and husband Merle of Brownwood, Texas: Gail Pool of Aledo, Texas and JoAnn Milum ofMidland; sisters, Mittie (Smokey) Dunham and husband Pide, of Old Glory, Texas; Carol Watts of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers Dan Worthington of McAllen, Texas, and Don Worthington of Elgin, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Faye will be held Thursday, May 3, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy., Midland, Texas 79701. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 4, also at Ellis Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Miller will be officiating along with Pastor Dan Chapman of Brownwood, Texas.
