

Gary was born, raised and educated in Carrollton, Missouri.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence A. McCumber and Francis Houseworth; sister, Lois Conner; son, Sam A. McCumber; step-daughter, Alicia M. Frix.
Survivors' include wife, Linda M. McCumber; children, Pamela Tracy (Jason); grandchildren, Alex, Tristan, Rowen of San Diego, California, Willie N. Frix (Kortney), grandchildren Aliza, Brenden of Lamesa, Texas, sisters, Sharon Eicker, Kansas City, Missouri and June Stanley, Kansas City, Kansas, numerous nieces and nephews. Gary is also survived by many loving and lifetime friends and acquaintances.
Gary joined the Navy at age seventeen and spent the next fifteen years serving his country. Gary and Linda were married in October of 1968 for eleven years and lived in the San Diego, California area. Life took them in different directions and reunited them in 1999 in Midland, Texas. Gary was a man of many talents, trained and certified in welding, a carpenter and craftsman, always looking for the next project.
In his younger years, Gary was interested in softball and played in many softball leagues. Bowling also followed him through his life and in recent years golfing was his passion and addiction. After retirement two years ago, Gary found his dream job as Golf Marshall at Hogan Park Golf Course in Midland, Texas. A husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother and a dear friend, Gary will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel, 801 Andrews Hwy. Midland, TX
