

George served his country proudly in the US Army. His military postings took him to several stateside and overseas locations. His duty stations included Eritrea, Italy, Vietnam, Hawaii, Utah, and many more. He retired as a Sergeant First Class (SFC). He married Margherita Perazzi on June 14, 1964. They continued to move their family with the military, then for his work as a Geophysicist before settling in Texas in 1980. Margherita Watts passed away November 28, 1997.
George re-married June 25th 1999, to Rebecca Vasquez. They continued to live in Midland, Texas.
He worked as a Geophysicist and earned a Master Degree in Geology and Geophysics in 1975. He was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Permian Basin Geophysical Society (PBGS), National Rifle Association (NRA), St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland, TX, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ft. Davis, TX and St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland, TX.
George enjoyed reading, traveling, any activity that had to do with the outdoors and mentoring. He was a fine husband, father and grandfather figure to so many. Providing kind and generous help to his wives’ families.
George is survived by his wife, Rebecca V. Watts; sons, Ian A. Watts and wife Melanie of Maricopa, Az and Arnold A. Olivas II of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Debra L. Watts of Midland, TX, Sandra K. Watts and husband Mike Willis of Houston, TX, and Jennifer M. Vasquez and husband Daniel Vasquez of Lubbock, TX; Sisters Sheila K. Stewart and husband John of St. Petersburg, FL and Mari J. Watts of Dunedin, FL; Sister-in-law, Carmen Watts of Nashville, TN; and seven Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margherita Watts; Parents, James D. and Beulah E. Watts; Brother, James R. Watts; Sister, Linda A. Watts.
The Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 9 AM at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Mass will begin at 10 AM followed by burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.
