Gladys Marie Tidwell

She was born December 23, 1934, in Iraan, Texas, to Velma and Jesse Fincher. She married William (Bill) Tidwell on February 6, 1954, in Midland, Texas, and they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. She was employed by West Texas Utilities for over twenty-five years, and upon leaving, held the title of District Auditor. Upon leaving West Texas Utilities, she proceeded to become involved in operating an insurance business and oil accounting service for several independent oil companies from 1980-1990.

Marie loved to travel and always had her bag packed and ready to leave. During her lifetime she visited many continents and cultures.

Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Tidwell of Midland; son, Connell Tidwell of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and many other close relatives.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Ellis Funeral Home (801 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas 79701) with Reverend Freddy Steen Officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey, Texas with graveside services.
