Gwen Lorraine Moody

She was born to William and Eula Baxter on May 13, 1954 in Hays, Kansas. Gwen graduated from Hays High School and received an LVN degree from Northwest Kansas Area Vocational School in 1979. She was married to the love of her life, Steve Moody, in 1979 and lived in various cities in Kansas before relocating to Midland, Texas in 1980 and began raising her precious children.

Gwen was kind and loving with a playful sense of humor. She was born to be a mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a giving heart and would always put others first. Gwen touched the lives of many and will be forever missed.

Gwen is preceded in death by her father William Baxter, daughter Shayna Alicia Moody, son Chandler A. Moody, and a granddaughter.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Steve Moody; sons Blayne Aaron Moody, Shayne Aric Moody, Bevan Austin Moody, Damian A. Dechant, and Eric Dexter. She is also survived by her mother Eula Baxter; sisters Mitzi Oetting, Lori Schlageck, and Roxi Baxter; brothers Bart Baxter and Thad Baxter; mother-in-law Betty Moody; and brother-in-law John Moody; as well as 5 nieces and nephews, and 4 grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Ellis Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
