

Hugh G. Teague, Jr., 85, loving husband and father, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born in West Lake, Louisiana on December 22, 1926 and graduated from Van High School, Van, Texas in 1943. Hugh then attended North Texas Agriculture College in Arlington, Texas. Hugh served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Staff Sergeant Teague earned the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal as a part of the occupation forces in Kyoto, Japan. He was honorably discharged on December 14, 1946.
After the Army, he graduated from Texas Technological College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1951. Hugh worked for Core Lab, Inc., after graduation and later was employed by Chevron, USA for 32 years before retiring in 1986.
Hugh was an active member of Memorial Christian Church and involved in the church’s food pantry. He also enjoyed meeting with “old folks” every Thursday at Sam’s BBQ for many, many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh Grady Teague, Sr., and Willie Mae “Bill” Pittman Teague.
He leaves his wife and the love of his life, Dorothy Jean (Rudd) Teague after 53 years of marriage; and two daughters: Carol Teague Sparks and her husband David Alan Sparks, and Kathleen Teague Dory; grandchildren: Brianna Rose Dory, Wesley Bryan Sparks, Landan Whitaker Dory, and Haley Elizabeth Sparks; his sister Florabel Tisdel and husband Malcolm W. Tisdel, and his nephew J. Michael Tisdel and wife Scott Elizabeth Calloway Tisdel and their son Ian. Hugh also leaves behind his faithful Boston Terrier and constant companion, Buddy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. The memorial service is Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Memorial Christian Church of Midland at 11:00 a.m.
