After a short but hard battle with cancer, Jack N. Gilly Jr., 66, of Rockport, Texas, has gone to be with the Lord. Jack was born and raised in Midland/Odessa and that is where he finished out his final days. Jack was first and foremost a Marine, however he was also a pilot, a boatsman and, more than all, a wonderful son, brother, father, and grandfather.
Jack is preceded in death by his father Jack Gilly Sr, and his sister Donna Gilly, both also of Midland, Texas.
Jack is survived by his mother, Thelma Gilly; his sister Sherri Gilly, and his brother Norman Gilly, all from Midland. He is also survived by his son, Michael Gilly of Austin, Texas; his Daughter Sara Steffen (nee Gilly) of Waukesha, Wisconsin; his 4 grandchildren, Jaden Michael, Lily Deeann, Zoey Savannah, and Lucas Jack; niece, Erica Cherie; nephew, Jason Matthew, and great niece, Emily Ann.

There will be a Memorial Service held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating.
