Kimberly Rae Large Carnes

Kimberly Rae (Large) Carnes of Midland, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 3rd, 2014. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Kimberly was born on July 29, 1964 in Big Spring, TX to Kenneth Ray Large of Lenorah, TX and Hazel Mary (Large) Burgess of Cardiff, Wales UK.

Kimberly was born the third child and only girl among three brothers. At age 5, she and her family moved to Cardiff, Wales. After graduating from high school, she worked as a receptionist at a local hotel. She married Simon Humphries and later moved back to Midland with her two children in 1983. She worked at Ginghams Day Care, Kyotee Screen-printing and later at Riley’s Bar and Grill. Kimberly loved to cook and participated in numerous Chili Cook Offs along with her dad. Her heart was pure gold when it came to friends who needed help. She never let anyone go without food and shelter.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother and father, three brothers, Kyle Large and wife Kristina of Fort Worth, Tx; Kevin Large of Caerleon, Wales UK; Cody Large and partner Debbie Hemken of Midland; her two children, Rian Large and wife Cassie of Midland, Kayleigh Large of Midland; half brother Drew Large and partner Angie Follis of Midland; step brother and sister, Doug and Develin Doss; cousins Pat High of Stanton, Tx, KC and Dodie Caulder of San Antonio, Tx, Stacy Stribling of Midland, Tx, Robert and Marla Scott of Schertz, Tx, Bill and Sheila Scott of Cibolo, Tx; Grandchildren, Hazel Marie and Londyn Grace; as well as a large group of friends including special friend Mark Carnes.

A memorial service will be held at Ellis Funeral Home, Wednesday January 8, 2014 starting at 6pm with a short visitation for family and friends afterwards. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
