He was born on March 12, 1944 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Warren and Tylene Schneider. Larry lived a life marked by dedication to his family, strong values, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was known for his steady presences, quick wit, and natural leadership-always the man in charge, often with a well-timed joke that kept everyone smiling.
Larry spent many years working in the oilfield as a production foreman, where his strong work ethic, leadership, and no-nonsense approach earned him the respect of those he worked alongside. He took pride in his work and the role he played in providing for his family.
An avid hunter and gun enthusiast, Larry found great joy in spending time outdoors. Whether in the early morning stillness of the woods or sharing stories after a long day, hunting was more than a pastime-it was a passion that connected him with nature and with generations of family and friends. He took pride in passing down these traditions, teaching not only skill, but respect, patience, and responsibility.
Above all, Larry cherished his family. He is survived by his children, son Richard Schneider and step daughter Darlene Bagwell, grandchildren Ashley Bagwell, Kendal Schneider, Harper Schneider, Ryan Kennedy, Cade Kennedy, Chris Beman, Christine Andrews and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Sharon Sutton and many other loved ones who will miss him deeply. He is preceded in death by both his parents Warren and Tylene Schneider, wife, Barbara Schneider, step daughters, Vickie Beman and Diane Kennedy, brother, Mikeul Schneider, and sister Brenda Carter.
Pallbearers will be Wes Sutton, Warren Schneider, David Carter, Daniel Carter, Keith Wolf, and Adam Valenzuela. Honorary Pallbearers will be Willie Schneider, Cade Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Kye Valenzuela, and Albert Valenzuela.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Friday, May 8th at 2:00 p.m. followed by graveside committal at Resthaven Memorial Park North.
