

Lindley Paul Latham passed away December 11, 2010 after a hard and courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 18, 1951 to Lindley and Estella Latham in Midland, Texas. He graduated from Midland High School in 1970, Texas Tech University in 1974 and earned his law degree from Texas Tech Law School in 1978. Paul began his legal career with Bullock, Scott & Neisig. He then had the privilege to work for Clayton W. Williams, Jr., for 29 years where he served as Chief Operations Officer and Executive Vice President of Clayton Williams Energy, Inc. He was responsible for leading the operation of the Williams' private ventures in real estate and other investments. Clayton and Modesta Williams gave him opportunities and mentoring helped him grow professionally and personally. He loved those he worked with and the challenges presented to him throughout his career. He also served as Board President of Trinity School for six (6) years and as the director for numerous charitable organizations. Paul was a devoted husband and father as well as a special brother; he wanted all to know that he had a wonderful family life with four great children and in his words "a super, loving and caring wife". He was preceded in death by his parents. As an avid hunter he was able to share many special times with each of his children in search of that special trophy buck. Shortly before his death, he was proud to have claimed the largest buck of record in McCulloch County, Texas. Paul enjoyed the company of his family as they boated on the waters of Lake LBJ and his love of travel took his family to South Africa, Europe, Alaska, and many other places. Paul is survived by his wife Debbie of Midland, Texas, four children, Ryan, Andrew and Kate of Midland, Texas, and Hunter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his sister and brother in law, Linda and Rodney Satterwhite of Midland, Texas, mother and father in law Beth and Bob Favor of Clyde, Texas; sisters and brothers in law: Lynn and Dr. Chuck Priess of Austin, Texas; Vanissa and Adolph Micklethwait of Montgomery, Texas; and Sherry Favor of Abilene, Texas as well as nieces and nephews: Leslie and Grayson Hankins of Odessa, Texas, Scott and Monica Satterwhite of Lake Kiowa, Denver Priess of Austin, Texas, Rachael Micklethwait of Austin, Texas and Drew Micklethwait of Montgomery, Texas. Paul wanted to thank everyone for all the support, friendship and prayers during his illness. His family would like to thank Dr. Shelton Viney, Dr. Pete Carter, Dr. James Huston, Hospice of Midland, the staff at Midland Memorial Hospital and Dr. Robert A. Wolff at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, in Midland, Texas 79701.
