

She was born August 18, 1933 to Otis I. and Fay Cartwright in Big Lake, Texas. She graduated from Reagan County High School in 1952 and soon after married the love of her life, John, on November 1, 1952. Together they brought to this world a son and two daughters.
While being a dedicated wife and mother, for many years, Marinell worked as the Secretary for the Reagan County Attorney and Bookkeeper to the Glidewell businesses. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi and received The Order of Rose in 1992. She was a member of the Handbell and Chancel Choir for the First United Methodist Church of Midland. She was Valedictorian of her high school and received many other distinguished awards throughout her dedication.
Marinell was a kind and considerate Christian leader who loved helping her family and friends. She dedicated many hours to her church, choir and helping others. Loved being a homemaker, gardening in which she won “Gardner of the Week”. She had many “life long furry friends” that were considered family. She will be dearly missed in this community.
Marinell was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John; son, Lynn Glidewell of San Angelo, TX; daughters, Vicky Thompson of Weatherford, TX, Karen Barnes and husband Mark of Milsap, TX; sister-in-law, Frances Seay and husband David of Italy, TX; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is also survived by her grandkids, Jake Glidewell and wife Crescendia of Round Rock, TX; Lacey Gordan and husband Jackie of Lubbock, TX; Sunny Walton and husband Cody of Abilene, TX; Levi Thompson of Albany, TX; Marcanne Barnes of Stephenville, TX; Bucky, Ethan, and Kathleen Glidewell all of San Angelo, TX. Seven great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Yogi.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, June 20, 2011 at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Midland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Jake Glidewell, Jackie Gordon, Cody Walton, Levi Thompson, Bucky and Ethan Glidewell.
