Melanie Kate Dover was born still at 6:10 am on Thursday March 8, 2018 to parents David and Baylee Dover at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey, California. Born at 40 weeks, weighing 8.3 lbs and 21.5 inches long Melanie was a beautiful baby; having her momma’s mouth, her daddy’s eyes and nose and blonde wisps of hair adorning her precious face. She was a deeply loved gift, perfectly prepared for and flawless in every way.
With full faith, trust and hope in Jesus, parents David and Baylee of Seaside, California take comfort in knowing Melanie was welcomed into His arms in her forever heavenly home, joining the brother or sister that went before her last May.
Left to mourn the too soon passing of their granddaughter are paternal grandparents Aaron and Carol Dover of Midland, maternal grandparents Monty and Andrea Chapman of Weatherford, Texas, great-grandmother Wilma Jean Dover of Tyler, Texas, great-grandparents Roy and Sharon Graham of Midland, Donald and Linda Chapman of Hale Center, Texas as well as great-great grandmother Cleva Chapman of Lubbock, Texas. Melanie also leaves behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins that look forward to meeting her in the presence of Jesus one fine day.
Preceding Melanie in death were her great-grandfather, Aaron Dover, Sr. and great-grandparents Elwood and Marjorie Hisey.
Condolences may be shared with David and Baylee during visitation in Midland, Texas on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm in Resthaven Memorial Park North in Midland, Texas with Scott Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers David and Baylee request that memorial donations be made in Melanie’s honor to Buckner International 700 N. Pearl St., Suite 1200, Dallas, Texas 75201 or at www.buckner.org.
