

Mignon Rachal Pearson, 88, passed away July 24, in her home. She was born on March 21, 1925 in Fort Stockton, Texas. The daughter of a pioneer ranching family, she attended the University of Texas at Austin and received her teaching degree from Sul Ross State University in Alpine. She taught history and government at Fort Stockton High School until she moved to Midland in 1961. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Two of her passions in life were genealogy and reading. She was a member of numerous genealogical organizations including Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was a regular volunteer at the Friends of the Library Bookstore for several years. She also loved to travel and took many wonderful trips with her husband Bruce, and friends. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining as well, and was famous for her onion soup and cakes at the Christmas party she and Bruce hosted for seventeen years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Guy S. and Elizabeth Rachal, a son Peter Lane Hall, a brother Guy Scott Rachal Jr., her husband’s: Lt. Col. Paul Morgan Hall, Lenis Gilbert, and Bruce Terrill Pearson.
She is survived by sons: Guy Hall, Blaine Hall, John Pearson, and daughters Rachal Eriksen and Louisa Basile, one sister Margaret Measday, several grandchildren: Alan Hall, Natalie Hall Perez, KC Pospisil, Megan Pearson, Anne Hall, Peter Hall, Janelle Eriksen, Ryan Basile, and Kent Basile; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge the special bond with Stephanie Lister, her caregiver, and her staff and to thank them for all they did for Mignon these last few years.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 28 at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.ellisfunerals.com.
