Patsy was born on August 27, 1935, the youngest child of Thomas Breedlove and Thelma Wyrick Breedlove. She was raised in Baxter Community of Henderson County, Texas and graduated from Athens High School in 1953. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Glynn Hopson, her parents and her three sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Short and husband Lyle, and Judy Whitworth and husband Worth. She is survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to working full time at her jobs, the latest being in the Human Resources Department with Shell Pipeline, Patsy was active in her church, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, participating in mission trips and church building projects. She volunteered with Casa de Amigos' Adult Education Program and on the audit team of Members Financial Credit Union (formerly Midland Shell Credit Union).
A visitation for Patsy will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home, 4616 North Big Spring Street, Midland, TX 79705. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bellview Baptist Church, 1710 N Big Spring St, Midland, TX 79701. A committal will occur Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4616 North Big Spring Street, Midland, TX 79705.
Patsy is now walking with Jesus and singing with the angels. How blessed!!
