

She was born in Monroe Indian Territory, Oklahoma, the daughter of a pioneer physician Dr. Benjamin Woodson and his wife Lillie. She had a joyful childhood in the beautiful eastern Oklahoma hills. She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Sul Ross State and taught school for several years in El Paso. She moved to Midland in 1939 to work for Sun Oil Company. She married Louis A. Bartha May 18, 1942.
She loved flowers and gardening, was an excellent homemaker, and had many close friends. She had a glorious smile and an unfailing positive attitude. She was a constant source of comfort and encouragement for Gregory, her son.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Midland Garden Club, American Association of University Women, and Midland Historical Society.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her son Dr. Gregory W. Bartha, three nephews and one niece.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Ellis Funeral Home between the hours of 12-8 p.m. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Shannon Weisenfels of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to ed to Hospice Midland, Midland Memorial Foundation, or the Gregory W. Bartha Health Science Scholarship at Midland College.
