Toribio Guzman “Toby” Santos III passed away on March 22, 2013 in Midland. He was born December 21, 1947 in Smiley, Texas to Toribio C. Santos II and Elvida Guzman. He graduated from Nixon High School, and later he married Consuelo Cisneros in May 1969 in a ceremony in Nixon, Texas. Toby was a retired meat cutter and enjoyed gardening and selling produce. He was a member of the San Juan Catholic Church in Midland.
Toby is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Pedro Santos, his sister, Carmen Riojas, and his wife, Consuelo.
Toby is survived by his sons, Toribio “Toby” Santos IV of Midland and Rodger Santos and wife Dorsey of Midland; his daughter Sonya Santos and husband Randy Barreraz of Midland; and his sister Maria Louisa Guerra of Nixon, Texas. Toby also had two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday, March 25 at Ellis Funeral Home from 6-8pm. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 6:30pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas. A funeral mass has been scheduled for Thursday, March 28 at 10am at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon, Texas with internment to follow at Burriolas Cemetery in Smiley, Texas.
