Wanda Sue Lewis

Wanda passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on April 16, 2025 in Midland, Texas. She was lovingly surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step father Ray Hajek, a son Ronald Deen Langley Jr. and a daughter Robbie Dawn Langley.

She is survived by 2 daughters Shelly Hicks and husband Donny Gallagher, Melania Pool and husband Kevin Pool, a brother Billy Deen Stamper all of Midland, Texas, a sister Mary Ann Kozimko and husband Mike of Franktown, Colorado. 4 grandchildren Michael Hicks, Shandi Williams, Russell Pool all of Midland and Joshua Pool of Odessa, Texas. 8 great grandchildren Brittany Hicks, Brianna Hicks, Brailey Hicks, Landry Williams, Jaxson Williams, Chloe Pool all of Midland; Avery Pool & Tripp of Odessa. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda lived in Waco, Texas and moved to Midland in 1949. Wanda attended Midland High School.

Wand lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 8 years before returning to Midland in 1974.

Wanda started her work career working at Tull Peterson Drug Store at the age of 13. She also worked at Woodford Drug in the Scharbauer Hotel.

Wanda worked for First National Bank of Alaska in Anchorage in 1970.

Wanda worked for ENERGAS-Atmos Gas company for 20 years before retiring in 1995 as a General Distribution Office Clerk. After retiring from ENERGAS she moved to the Greenwood area.

Wanda had a breadth of interests; she enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard, going to the lake riding her JetSki, dancing and driving her golf cart with her co-pilot “Smokey” the cat. The trips to The Heart of Texas Country Music Festival in Brady, TX always meant so much. Family meant everything to Wanda. She enjoyed every possible moment with her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. Her travels took her to Colorado, Hawaii & England.

She loved helping people and never turned a person in need away. Wanda took care of everyone.

Wanda was laid to rest at Ellis Resthaven Cemetery in Midland, Texas on April 23, 2025.

In lieu of flowers can be made to Hospice of Midland in Wanda Lewis’ name.
