Betty Ann Jones

JONES, Betty Ann Mart, after a long battle with cancer, passed to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 26, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie Mae and Warren Gentry Mart; her sisters, Ella Mae Dunn, La Euna Jane Rhodes Da Bash, Nixie Waters; and brother, Warrant Henry Mart "Sonny." She leaves behind her beloved husband of 55 years, Marvin C. Jones Sr.; her loving children, sons, Marvin C. "Bo" Jr. (Trish) and David F. Sr. (Kimberly), all of Amelia, and Michael K. Sr. (Ashley) of Charlotte, Va., and daughter, Betty Marie Ramsey (Dennis) of Chesterfield, Va.; her niece, "little sister," Teressa Ann Ashby (Robert "Bob" Sr.) of Midlothian, Va.; her sister, Mary C. Manfre of Charlotte, N.C.; 11 loving grandchildren, 17 loving great-grandchildren and a host of lovely nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her years at Luck Stone in Powhatan felt like a second family to her. The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors at Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital for their tireless effort and dedication to caring for Betty. We would also like to thank Wanda, Scarlett and Karen for their dedication and compassion and the Hospice of Virginia team for taking such wonderful care of her. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Hospice of Virginia, 1700 Bayberry Ct., Suite 300, Richmond, Va. 23226 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, for cancer research, in Betty's memory. A visitation will take place at Woody Funeral Home-Huguenot Chapel on September 28, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service will take place on Sunday, September 29, in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
