Carrie Monroe Roarty

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Christopher Roarty; her children, Riley Edward Roarty and Lila Ann Roarty; parents, Betsy and Edward Monroe; mother and father in law, Cathleen and George Roarty; brother and sister in law, Kevin and Emily Roarty; and many other family and friends.

Carrie earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at Radford University, and earned her teaching certificate at VCU, she taught Health and P.E. for 15 years while coaching field hockey and soft ball at James River High School, she was a member of the 2002 field hockey state championship team, she initiated the high school component of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and was a member of the Cathedral of The Sacred Heart.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, on Tuesday, January 28, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Funeral Mass will be held at 12pm, on Wednesday, January 29, at Cathedral Of The Sacred Heart, 800 S Cathedral Pl Richmond, VA 23220. Burial Private.
