MARK, Cecelia Christine Hash, age 89, left this earth on December 4, 2016 after a short illness. She is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife, Janice Long, John and Fred Mark. Our fabulous mom grew up in Deer Park, OH with her parents, John and Leota Hash and brother, Carl.
While working at General Electric, she met and married the love of her life, Robert C. Mark. Mom soon gave birth to three boys. Dad's job would take us to Greenwich CT, Syracuse, NY, and Lynchburg, VA where she and dad got us a boxer dog, Taffy, that was the perfect companion for three adventurous boys. And boy, did Mom ever love that dog! Since childhood she had a deep affection for animals. Because dad traveled often, Mom became our go-to parent for just about everything, including trips to movies, Little League games, football practice, Boy Scouts, trying to teach us to play golf, etc., etc. Mom really enjoyed meeting all our childhood friends and always welcomed them to our home.
We had the kind of home that all our friends loved to visit! As the years went by she still remembered their names and the crazy escapades we managed to get into. She loved reliving all those madcap memories. In her later years, her Boston Terrier, Mandy, was her constant companion. Mom's generosity was a life long passion. She loved sending gifts to all her friends and relatives. If someone was struggling financially she would find a way to help out.
As the years flew by, mom managed to endure the loss of her beloved husband in 2003, cancer surgery in 2003, as well as the passing of her cherished Mandy. In January, 2016, mom suffered a broken arm and shoulder that put her into assisted living. Through it all she carried on and was always more concerned about others than herself. She longed to return to her beautiful home and flower gardens and was able to come home for a visit on Thanksgiving day that was a joy for all of us! Though God has taken you from us so suddenly we endeavor to make you proud of us. With hearts broken we will forever cherish your unconditional and everlasting love. Till we meet again, we love you Mom! Your three sons, Bob,John and Fred. Memorial services will be private. In her memory, please make donations to cancer research or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be left at woodyfuneralhomehuguenot.com.
