He was preceded in death by, his parents, Clarence and Winifred Venable.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret "Maggie" Venable; daughter, Christen Venable (Jimmy); grandchildren, Tatiana and Preston Hicks; sister, Jan Meachem (John); brother, Kevin Venable; niece, Tracy Puckett; nephew, John Meacham Jr.; and his beloved dog, Gracie Lou Freebush.
Charlie was an avid reader, a member of Phi Theta Pi and BAMM Lions Club, he was addicted to Amazon shopping, and always found a bargain. He loved his family dearly, especially his wife and grandkids. Charlie will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6pm on Friday, December 19 at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel.
