SANDERS, Charlie D., 68, of Midlothian, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on March 2, 2016. Survivors include his wife, Jane Sanders; four children and their spouses, Kelly Thomas (Ringo), Jesse Sanders (Tamara), Karen Taylor (Terrence) and Charles Goodman (Jenny); his aunt, Beatrice Pennington; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and four sisters. Mr. Sanders was a former S.W.A.T. Commander and retired as a Sergeant with the Virginia State Police. After retirement, he volunteered as a coach with Meadowbrook and Manchester High Schools. Most of all, he loved his family and they loved him. He will be greatly missed. His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church, 1510 Courthouse Rd., Richmond.
