

Born on November 9th, 1943, in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Butch lived a life marked by a loving heart, a sharp intellect, and a devotion to both his family and the Lord.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Reeves Jr. and Muriel Friend Reeves, and his brother, R. Mac Reeves. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Wanda Stockner Reeves, sons Mark and Michael Reeves, daughter-in-law Stacey Shore-Reeves, and grandchildren Zac Sweet (Steve), Cody Reeves, Connor Wingo-Reeves (Dina), and Michael Shore. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter, Avery Sweet, who brought him much joy in his later years. He leaves behind his sister, Vicky Norman, his brother, John Reeves, and his sister-in-law Jane Reeves.
Butch was a man of many interests, with a deep love for sports, particularly football, and an affinity for fishing, which provided him quality time with his sons. A devoted family man, Butch was adored by his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pop.”
Butch spent his career as a manager in a textile plant. He was known for his strong sense of loyalty, and his love of animals, a passion that the family has asked to be honored through donations to the Richmond Animal League in his name.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home, located at 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Virginia 23113.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richmond Animal League.
