

CUDZIK, Daniel F., passed peacefully surrounded by family on September 26, 2018 at his home in Bon Air, Virginia, where he lived for over forty years. He was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois and it was there that he met the love of his life Ellen Georgianna Rivers. They married and started a family in Cicero, Illinois before moving to Virginia in 1970 after Dan took an engineering job working for Reynolds Metals Can Division. Dan’s career was highlighted with the invention and patenting of the “Stay On Tab” which revolutionized the beverage can industry solving a multitude of safety and litter problems. Dan’s hobbies including fishing and “tinkering” in his home machine shop where he proved he could “make or fix anything”. The family has planned a private service. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Cudzik; daughter, Susan Wilburn and husband, Doug; son John Cudzik and wife Kim; four grandchildren Catie Wilburn, Matthew, Delaney and Jack Cudzik; and sister Esther Joyal. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jean Holloway for the wonderful care Dan received. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to The Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
