DARNELL, Edward Thomas "Tom" Jr., 82, died April 8, 2015. Born and raised in James City County, the son of the late Edward T. and Blanche Thompson Darnell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Darnell; two sisters, Doris Parnell and Alice Weaver. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tarkington Darnell; three sons, Michael, David and Steven Darnell; and grandson, Dennis and his wife, Jennifer. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran and served 30 years in Law Enforcement with the Richmond Police Department and the Virginia State Police and as a U.S. postal inspector, from which he retired. He then worked as a fraud investigator with the Erie Insurance Company. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
