

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Seba and Louise Parrish Blackstock.
Steve, as he was affectionately known, leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. He is survived by his one and only true love of 64 years, his wife, Sarah McKesson Parrish. His children, Edwin Scott Parrish (Tina) of Lawrenceville, GA, Holly (Mark) Lively of Gainesville, GA, Robin Braun (the late Chris) of Urbana, VA, and Cheryl Powell (Scott) of North Chesterfield, VA, ex Son in Law, William Lightfoot, his brother Robert W Parrish (Beth) and their daughters all mourn his passing. He was also a loving grandfather to Sarah, Brooke, Cody, Stewart, Avery, Addie, Sierra, Alex, Johnathan, Lilly, and Chloe. Steve's family will continue to grow with seven great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
Born in 1941, Steve was part of the 1959 Class of Manchester High School. He then answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy in January of 1964. During his service, he played a vital role during the Cuban Missile Blockade, where he excelled as an aviation technician. His dedication and commitment to his country were unwavering.
After his honorable service in the Navy, Steve embarked on a long and successful career at AT&T in 1966. His dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Steve and Sara were devout members of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where their faith brought them strength and solace. He was not only a man of faith but also a man of passion. Steve was a lifelong fan of NASCAR, a sport that he followed with enthusiasm. He and Sara shared a love for travel, often exploring the country in their camper, creating beautiful memories together.
He continued to serve is community as a volunteer fireman with the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, and continued serving with the Midlothian Volunteer Fire Department after moving to Midlothian.
Steve was also a life long memeber of American Legion Post 186 and La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux ("Forty & Eight") Voiture 53
One of Steve's true talents and passions was restoring classic cars. He was an artist in this regard and took great pride in his work. He was also a proud member of The Cougar Club, where he showcased his '68 Cougar at various shows, earning admiration and respect from fellow enthusiasts.
As a grandfather, Steve was deliberate and patient, imparting endless wisdom and love to each one of his grandchildren. He played such an important role in all their lives, leaving them with lasting impressions of his kindness and caring nature.
Steve Parrish was not just a man; he was truly an American legend. His impact on his family, his community, and his passions was profound, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and wisdom will endure through the generations.
