Eric Douglas Dewey

Eric D. Dewey, 48, of Richmond, died Thursday, January 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, L. J. Dewey. Eric is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lynn Matthews Dewey; two daughters, Amber and Kelly; his mother, Jayne Hawpe Dewey; a sister, Lisa C. Dewey; nieces and nephew, Michelle Matthews, Derek and Raynie Cathcart; also numerous cousins.

Eric was a devoted son, wonderful brother, and loving husband and father. He was a graduate of Monacan High School and Commonwealth College; an IT Analyst for VCU with over 20 years of service; and he enjoyed poker with his friends, Big 10 basketball, and cultivating peonies.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Providence United Methodist Church on Providence Rd.
