Ernestine Ray Bennett

Ernestine Ray Bennett departed her earthly life peacefully on March 12, 2015 at the age of 94. Born in Biscoe, NC on June 5, 1920, she was a graduate of St. Leo’s School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Hospital. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard Lyle Bennett, her daughter Phyllis Bennett Fadool, and her grandson Michael Thomas Fadool. She is survived by her son Robert Edward Bennett and his wife Susan, her son Richard Ray Bennett and his wife Mimi, and her son-in-law Tony Fadool. Surviving grandchildren are Amy Fadool Kane (Sean), Jeffrey Robert Bennett, Kevin Coogan Bennett (Melissa), Andrew James Bennett, and Sarah Ray Bennett. She is also survived by her great grandson Sean Michael Kane and several nieces and nephews.

A Christian Service of Death and Resurrection will be held Wednesday, March 18 at 2 PM at Bon Air United Methodist Church, 1645 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23235. The family will receive friends at 1 PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238. The family would like to thank the staff of Elmcroft of Chesterfield for their steadfast care and kindness.
