George Ernest Brooks

George Ernest Brooks, 74, of Midlothian, Va., passed away January 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Brooks and Marguerite Brooks Munson; a sister, Virginia B. Messer; a brother, Winston A. Brooks. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Eleanor Beazley Brooks; two brothers, James R. and wife, Betty M. Brooks and Ralph T. and wife, Nancy C. Brooks; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brooks served in the Virginia Army National Guard and was a passionate salesman for 48 years, working for National Cash Register Company, Hobart Sales and Service and Tidewater Scale and Butcher Supplies. He was an avid boater and member of the Richmond Sail and Power Squadron, where he served as administrative officer and made the grade of Pilot.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road and where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the PKD Foundation, an organization committed to discovering treatments and a cure for polycystic kidney disease, P.O.
