Nathan was born and raised in North Chesterfield, Virginia. He attended Cloverland Preschool, Gordon Elementary, Midlothian Middle, and Monacan High School. He was a member of the 2023 graduating class at Monacan. He was working at the Kroger Center Chick-fil-a while taking plumbing class at the Chesterfield Technical Center. He finished his first class in December, and was looking forward to starting his second class in February.
Nathan was always involved in many activities when he was younger from playing baseball to participating in Boy Scouts. However, Nathan discovered that he really loved skateboarding at the age of 11 after receiving his first real skateboard for his birthday. He loved hanging out with his friends at their houses or on the porch by the fire pit at his home. Some people may not know this, but he was also a pretty good artist. He loved life and truly lived each day to the fullest. Even though he was often reserved, shy, and quiet, he was a person who got along with almost anyone. He had a way of making people feel accepted and comfortable. He was always goofing around trying to put a smile on their faces. He always wanted people to feel free to be themselves. Nathan would go out of his way to help those around him. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
Our family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. There will be a visitation from 10 am - 12 pm.
A light lunch and reception will immediately follow from 12 pm - 2 pm. This will be a time for Nathan’s family and friends to share some of their memories of him. Please dress comfortably & casually for the services because Nathan would have wanted it that way.
The Gravely Family would like to thank all of our family and friends and all of Nathan’s friends for their love and support during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nathan’s name to the Susan G. Koeman Breast Cancer Foundation for his grandmother, Mary Ellen Cress Ward.
