BEHREND, Helen R, 88 born August 24, 1924 in Trenton, N.J. She departed this life August 20, 2013. She was the devoted wife of the late Lt Col. William W. Behrend, (USAF, Ret.); and mother to the late John R. Behrend, her beloved son. Survivors include her daughter Billie Hoddy and her husband, John; daughter-in-law, Jane Behrend; her sister, Betty Benck; grandsons Jeff , John, and James Goldsmith and Scott Strickland; several great grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren. Helen was a patriotic Air Force wife, traveling around the country meeting many different people. Helen enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbors while living in Glen Allen as well as her new neighbors at Chesterfield Heights in Midlothian. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
