Jackie was born in Buckingham County, VA, where she spent her early years. After high school graduation, she moved to Richmond, VA, and started a career in accounting. Jackie married Jimmy in 1953 and within 5 years they added their two daughters.
Jackie had a sweet, loving, quiet, yet adventurous spirit. She enjoyed many activities whether it was helping others through church work and donations, family gatherings, travel, designing and sewing gift bags, yoga classes, feeding the birds, nature walks, listening to music, working a puzzle, or dancing. She read the newspaper and watched the news daily and was always eager to discuss current events. Jackie had conflicting passions for cows and a good cheeseburger.
She was an inspiration and a very important part of so many people’s lives. She will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends at Woody’s Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel on Friday, March 6, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Jackie’s Life will commence at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Feed More of Central Virginia at feedmore.org.
